Description
Quinoa – White available in 250g, 500g and 1kg options.
Quinoa is a small round grain that has a slightly bitter flavour and a firm texture when cooked. Discovered by the Incas, quinoa was first grown thousands of years ago, and today the most widely cultivated varieties are white, red and black. Due to its high oil content, quinoa is best stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
Quinoa is an excellent source of magnesium, phosphorus, manganese and folate and is gluten -free. It contains 6.35g of protein per 45g of dry weight.
Rinse quinoa before cooking to remove the bitter coating, Boil for 10-15 min. The cooked grains quadruple in size and become translucent.
